Giveaways Galore! Day 4: Children’s Book: How Cleaning My Room Changed My Life! Now Closed-Winner Announced Soon!

9:54 AM Posted by Centsible Mommy

Maybe cleanliness is an acquired skill rather than an inherent quality, or so it seems with my 3-year-old son, whom my husband has affectionately named “Pig Pen” very recently due to the way he has been messing the house lately. He just does not know how to clean up after himself at all.

I wish I would have had the foresight to take a before and after picture of his bedroom and playroom before I spent 5 hours cleaning them recently! That was just a few days worth of mess. Five hours of reassembling toys and games that were strewn about everywhere, and putting away personal belongings and folding clothes that mysteriously ended up unfolded in the drawers, and picking up bits of who knows what from the floors… the list goes on.

My son in some serious need of learning to tidy up and organize, so I was very glad to come across a book very recently that I absolutely think will be helpful, titled, “How Cleaning My Room Changed My Life.”

This book tells the story of a boy named Sam who loses almost everything because of his messy room. When Sam learns he might lose his spot on the baseball team and maybe even his best friend, he decides it is time to make some major changes in his life and attack the accumulated mess that has been swallowing his valuable possessions. Besides being an amazingly cute story, making cleaning, and organizing seem adventurous; it is also useful as it serves as a step-by-step guide teaching children how to tidy up, fold clothes, make their bed and learn the skill of organizing because at the end of the book there is instructions for each task.

Since reading this book, my son has become more interested in organizing his things and tidying up. Has the book made him a neat freak? No, but it has really sparked his interest in cleaning and organizing and his tidying skills have really improved. I recommend the book to those who want their children to learn the lifelong importance of tidiness and organization. Also, he likes it read to him which is always a plus! Click here for more information or to purchase this book! If I were to put age recommendation on this book, I'd say ages 2-12!

And guess what? 2 of my lucky readers are going to win a copy of “How Cleaning My Room Changed My Life”! Here’s hoping it will change yours a bit…hopefully less fighting to get your kids to clean up after themselves!

Number one reason: The Hurricane that is my son. As I'm cleaning an area, he is messing another or takes sudden interest in each toy I'm putting away... I fold clothes and get up to answer the phone or something and return to find all of the clothes on the floor. To the point of a fit sometimes! He is only two but if it continues I'll read him this book after.

Lucky that I love him because the end of this day leaves me exhausted.

I need this for the simple fact that 2 of my grandchildren live here and my house is a disaster. We could all use some help in how to clean the mess starting with my grandson room. Thank you!

Imagine your son times two - that is my kids. They can create such a giant mess in such a short amount of time... My daughter does appreciate the difference between tidy and disaster zone, so I think she can be saved! (My son may just be beyond help). This book would be a great way to help her learn to keep things neat and orderly.
