My Savings
As for my savings, I saved $78.92 using coupons this week (be sure to sign up for Cents Off if you haven't already and print 67+ coupons here), and scored some free Thomas Trains from Toys R Us as well. I got a great deal on a bike using a coupon combined with a sale price. I got a $50 check from Revolution Money Exchange, got some free movie rentals-we had a free movie night. Hollywood video sent out a mailer with 2 coupons for a combined 3 free movies. Were you lucky enough to get that one??? Hope so.
And I still got loads of coupons for freebies and deals to use for the upcoming week!
I also had a cashier at Wal-Mart ask me to please tell her I managed to save all that cash, so I wrote down the address to this blog. She said she had never seen anybody work coupons like that before in her 3 years at Wal-Mart! It made me very proud of my frugalness and I was equally glad to be of help to her too!
I fed a family of four at a restaurant for $3 using coupons!

Sorry to be posting so late in the day today. We took our 3 year old son out to buy his very 1st big boy bike with training wheels. Hot wheels, of course!!!! We picked up some free Thomas & Friends trains while there as well!!! Then used some coupons for a very inexpensive lunch!
Heads up: There is a $5 off Hotwheels & Barbie Bikes and accessories (helmets & such) coupon on Hunt's snack packs(found at Wal-Mart). The bike was on sale for $39.99 at Toys-R-Us (Originally $59.99)-so it only cost us $34.99!!!

Rebate Watch: $20 Gas Rebate

Check your gas stations for tear pad rebate forms for a $20 gas rebate!
Here is how it works: Buy a minimum of $20 worth of gas and a 12pk or larger of Miller/Miller light cans or bottles on one receipt. Complete the original coupon (no copies) and mail with receipt to address provided on form. Receive a check for $20.
Rebate good through July 31st and must be postmarked by 8/15.
Be sure it both the gas and beer are on the same receipt. I would suggest you go inside for the beer and then prepay for a specific amount of gas over $20. Then pay with a credit card/debit card so the clerk will give you a receipt and both items will be on the same receipt.

Are There Coupons in Your Sunday Paper?

As I have mentioned before, I live in an area whose paper does not contain money-saving coupons, which is a disappointment to me and I have always wondered why there are none in the paper.
Well, today thinking I would find some answers, I called the paper and asked politely why there are none available. The receptionist who answered the phone stated she did not know why, she said perhaps the companies didn't want us to have them, and said goodbye rather abruptly. Despite being treated what I would consider somewhat rudely, I said goodbye also, but I was frustrated as this was not a definitive answer and certainly a call that should have been directed to someone who knew the answer-especially if she did not. And why would companies not want us to buy their products?.....not a very good guess on her part.
So I went online and got the number to a party that is in charge of advertisements and marketing. She was away from her desk, so I left a message. I am still waiting for a return phone call.
As a paying customer, I want to know the definitive reason that we are not offered coupons as other areas are. We certainly pay the same standard rate for the paper as other areas do. Is it actually the companies withholding them as the receptionist implied or are we paying charges for services we are not given. In other words, is the paper, not paying for a service to offer to their readers and still charging the same rates as the papers that are? I intend to find out and will update you as soon as I do. Perhaps, you have found the answer to this question before, if so, please let me know.
In the meantime, do you also miss out on coupons in your newspaper? If so, where are you acquiring coupons besides printing them on the Internet? Please leave your two cents on where to find coupons besides Internet printed coupons.

You can call PBM Nutritionals at 1-800-272-5095 once every 30 days (mark your calendar) and they will mail you a $3 coupon. The coupons generally take 4-6 weeks to arrive, and even if you have not received a coupon from your first call, you can call to request your next coupon.
Don't forget to pick up your free samples at the Parent's Choice website.
A store brand combined with coupons, makes for a great deal!
Note: Not sure you should use a store brand baby formula? I wasn't either until I called my Pediatrician's Office and was told it is comparable to several brands based on which one you get, and that it was definitely okay. Call your pediatrician today and ask them about it! Remember, if switching, ask them which one you should get to match the type you are currently using.
