As a mom, I always try my best to keep my children healthy and safe.   This means reinforcing healthy eating and exercise habits, making sure they get enough sleep, teaching them to take great care of their teeth, and protecting them from any of the dangers in life they may face overall.  Sometimes the dangers are unseen....like the danger of the Sun's harmful rays.  *With more than 1 million cases of skin cancer diagnosed every year in the United States alone, we need to be aware of overexposure to the Sun's harmful rays and the damage they may cause. The sun, as beautiful and as nourishing it is to our planet, can be harmful to us if we are overexposed.  And since there is no exact science for us moms as to how much exposure is too much, we do our best to protect our children from it by applying sunblock, limiting activity when the sun is at its highest point. and so on.  But even these measures can be a guessing game as sunblock wears off rather quickly, especially when children are swimming or sweating, and it can be a guess when to reapply sunblock.  As for limiting our time in the sun, it's anybody's guess when it's been too much time.
